SALSA

Salsa dancing is the core of  Latin dancing, it’s usually the first passion in your Latin dance journey.
We love it because it makes us feel good, feeds our soul and brings happiness into our lives.

Salsa is the world’s most popular Latin dance. It is loved because of it’s music, it’s origins and it’s many dance style’s. Salsa refers to a fusion of informal dance styles having roots in the Caribbean (especially in Cuba and Puerto Rico), Latin and North America.

These Salsa classes are held at 2 venues:
St Kilda on Tuesdays // Fitzroy on Sundays, see details under ‘VENUES’.

LEVELS

SALSA FIRST TIMERS:
(Suggested duration 4-6 weeks)

This class breaks down the rhythm and timing, basic footwork variations and leading/following fundamentals, with basic turn patterns at a slow pace. This class can also be used as a revision or warm up for the beginner class.
No experience required.

SALSA BEGINNER LEVEL:
(Suggested duration 3 months)
This level is not for first time Salsa students, to enter this level you must have previously completed at least 4-6 lessons in Salsa.

With emphasis on timing and more leading and following techniques this is a faster paced class with weekly easy to learn moves.

Requirement: First Timer level or understanding of Basic footwork, timing & turn patterns.

SALSA INTERMEDIATE LEVEL 1:
(Suggested duration 6 months)

This level expands on lengthy routines with double turns and spinning for males and females.

Requirement: For those who have danced for at least 6 months in Beginner level 1, dance in time and can pick up complicated new moves with ease.

SALSA INTERMEDIATE LEVEL 2:
(Suggested duration on-going)

A very challenging class, fast paced with intricate turn patterns, routines, Salsa styling and Shines.

Requirement: For those who have danced for at least 6 months in Intermediate level 1. For dancers who have a greater understanding of modern salsa.

SOCIAL DANCING:
These classes are held at 2 venues, Tuesdays in St Kilda at United Styles Studio & Sundays in Fitzroy at Copacabana.
At both venues there is social dancing after classes, so stay back, practice your moves, meet people and dance your heart out!

OR $20 FOR TWO CLASSES ON THE SAME EVENING.

SUNDAYS @ COPACABANA- FITZROY:
$18 FOR ONE CLASS with FREE bottle of water.
OR $25 FOR TWO CLASSES ON THE SAME EVENING with FREE bottle of water.
